Form and function collide to create the Merkin Bag: the first luxury handbag in the world to feature a thick, lustrous, natural* bush.

"In retrospect, this turned out to be kind of a long way to go for a pun"
It Merks if you
Merk it
The Merkin Bag begs the question:
Is the world’s most iconic handbag design luxurious enough to redeem
a joke made in such poor taste? We think the results shriek for themselves.
"Is it art? It took for-F***ing-ever. Of course it's art"
Handcrafted Handcrafts- manship
A marvel of amateur pleathercraft, the Merkin Bag is beautifully lovingly handmade by hand, which shows in every stitch (thousands).
From the artist’s extensive collection of novelty textiles,
a discontinued schoolbus-yellow naugahyde imported from the clearance region of Joann and a reclaimed ginger wig make perfect bedfellows.
Protected Speech
Clearly a parody and not for sale anywhere; the artist requests not to be sued.
About the Artist
The Merkin Bag is brought to you by extremely glamorous Portland artist Kelly Kapowski. She now believes that every handbag should cost at least $20,000.
She has never made a handbag before, and hopes that she is never inspired to make one again.
